Hi I’m Lisa, tattooist at Skin Magick. I offer a unique handpoke tattooing service, where tattooing meets relaxation, and tradition intertwines with delicate artwork. The tattoos I offer are very delicate in nature and often custom designs developed in close collaboration with the client to ensure they have something truly unique to them. What Is Hand Poke Tattooing?Handpoke tattooing takes us back to basics, embracing the slowness and care in the moment.This process simply uses a needle to deposit an ink pigment into the skin by hand to leave a permanent mark dot by dot. The art of tattooing has been practised for thousands of years – long before the machines of modern times were invented. It is thought hand poke tattoos were originally used to signify health, fertility, strength and symbols of religious beliefs.In today’s world we are encouraged to be faster at everything we do, but what’s the hurry? There is great peace in slowness and stillness and that in itself is part of the ritual of tattoo. I started Skin Magick to bring these traditions back and use the process to create delicate ornaments for the skin.
